Sir,
I am directed by the Governor in accor
dance with Colonial Regulation No.84 to inform you that the
following charges have been made against you in your capacity
of Superintendent of the Registration Branch of the General
Post Office and to request you to furnish me with the grounds
on which you rely to exculpate yourself on or before the 7th.
proximo.
The charges are:
(1.) That you,whilst the French Mail was being dealt
With on Sunday the 5th. instant, left the Office along with
the Deputy Superintendent at 1.05 P.M. thereby neglecting your work of Superintending the Registration Branch, leaving
eight clerks at work six of whom remained from two to two and
a half hours later.
(2.) That, on the 6th.instant, you disobeyed orders
in not having had parcels packed up that had been received
that day and there were sufficient to fill eix boxes; and
(3.) That you did not have two boxes of Insured Parcels
locked into the parcel room as directed in orders signed by
